The New York Giants were one and done in the 2017 NFL playoffs after losing to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Game. Odell Beckham Jr. made the headlines after the game when he allegedly punched a hole in the Lambeau Field wall. He’s also under fire for the weekend boat trip a week before the game.

Giants lose to Packers 38-18

The Giants had a forgettable playoff performance in the 20-point loss against Green Bay. Odell Beckham Jr. had three dropped passes during the game. OBJ and some of his teammates quickly got criticized for their performance and some blamed their weekend trip to Miami.

The picture of some Giants players on a boat is now a meme and it will likely stick to them in the foreseeable future. It was like when Tony Romo and Jason Witten went to Cabo in 2007 before their playoff game against the Giants. The Dallas Cowboys ended up losing despite having home field advantage, per The Star-Telegram.

New York general manager Jerry Reese called out the player on his team to ‘grow up.’ He believes Beckham has all the potential in the world. He added that being in the league for three years now means he will be more matured next season.

“He’s a smart guy, but sometimes he doesn’t do smart things. We all had to grow up at different times in our lives. I think it’s time for him to do it now. He’s been here three years now,” Reese told Newsday. “He has a responsibility as a face of this franchise, and I think he’ll accept that responsibility,” he added.

Odell Beckham Jr. should really grow up

According to Cameron DaSilva of FOX Sports, OBJ should take the words by Reese to heart and ‘grow up.’ He added that there is nothing wrong in being a passionate player but Beckham should know when he becomes a distraction to the team.
