The key to Ginebra’s Game 2 victory was the defense of Mercado, who took the tough assignment in guarding the scorer.

“I started right from the start on Durham. From there, I knew I was gonna guard him,” Mercado said via Interaksyon. “I take pride on my defense. We tried to make him work. I was just trying to wear him out on the perimeter and tried to be in front of him in the post.”
