PBA Live Streaming, Preview and Prediction: Ginebra to lose in close one in Game 5 vs. SMB

San Miguel Beer forced Game 5 in the semifinals of the 2016 PBA Governor’s Cup last Sunday by blowing out Ginebra, 101-72. The do-or-die match is set Tuesday starting at 7PM at the expectedly full Araneta Coliseum.

Five players ended up in SMB’s convincing Game 4 win led by shooter Marcio Lassiter, who had 25 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the three-point area. Former Utah Jazz player and SMB import Elijah Millsap had 13 points and 17 rebounds while June Mar Fajardo had 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Except for the last game, all the first three games were close ones including a Game 3 win from Ginebra where Japeth Aguilar hit the game-winner at the buzzer.

For Ginebra to have a chance against San Miguel, they need to help their import Justin Brownlee on offense. Brownlee scored 28 points in the last game but only L.A. Tenorio scored in double figures with 17 points. Scottie Thompson and Sol Mercado went scoreless while Aguilar had one point.

The winner of Tuesday’s match-up will face the Meralco Bolts, which beat Talk ‘N Text in the other semifinals series, in the PBA Finals.
