Outlander fans can have an inside look at what’s going on behind-the-scenes of their favorite time travel drama. That will give them enough of the Jamie Heughan and Catriona Balfe romance while waiting for season 3 to arrive. The “Outlander” book will be available on October 18.
“Most fans do want to know how the sausage is made, they’re interested in the filmmaking process,” Outlander executive producer Maril Davis said as to the reason why they did the book.
She added that the book is some sort of a love letter to the cast and crew detailing not only Jamie and Claire’s love story, but also the hard work each cast and crew member contributed to making it into an amazing show.
The said book will be filled with pictures showing what’s happening in the film in every process. It also includes some amazing and exclusive shots from the film. One can say that it’s some sort of a coffee table book based on the quality of photos in the show.
Titled the ‘Making of Outlander,’ the book was written by Tara Bennet with the help of Diana Gabaldon herself. It details the process of how the show was made from the development of the script to the filming of each episode. The book also features exclusive photos and interviews from the cast and crew of the series. Gabaldon herself wrote the introduction for the book.
Davis described one instance in the making of the book where they had to recreate the scene where Claire had to journey to the past through the great stones of Craigh Na Dun. She said that it was magical, almost ethereal and that those who look at the photos will agree. However, everything was not perfect, of course, since they had to find the blue flowers that Gabaldon described in her book.
The ‘Making of Outlander’ is a must for every ‘Outlander’ fan who wants to get a hold of more materials about the movie. It can also be pre-ordered for those who want to have a copy before it hits the bookstores.
