The Season 5 trailer of the Arrow was first unveiled during the San Diego Comic-con last July, revealing a lot about the possible storyline in the series’ upcoming run. It served its purpose, pumping up the crowd who are yearning for the next adventure of Oliver and crew.
With the fifth season just a few months away, more details are beginning to emerge about the series’ storyline and characters. Rumors have been circulating about some major changes in Felicity’s role while leaking photos teased of new looks for the show’s heroes.
According to an interview with Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim, “big things” are being planned for Felicity in the upcoming season. Guggenheim teased that the character deviated from her role last season, severing her relationships and becoming more involved in the action.
“We’re positioning her to do something in the second half of the year that is really, really key, and that isn’t about her relationship with Oliver or even necessarily her father or her mother,” shared Guggenheim in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It’s really new territory for her, and we’ve very excited about it. Some big things are going to happen with Felicity.”
Despite refusing to further elaborate on their plans for Felicity, the character is definitely up for a lot of trials this season with an entirely new team to train (for Oliver) and having to deal with the deaths in Havenrock.
