Bruno Mars is dropping his third studio album, 24K Magic, tomorrow, November 18. The soulful singer teases fans by revealing the tracklist of his upcoming album reminiscent of the early 90’s.

It is nearly impossible to find a hitmaker as impressive and inspiring as the Grenade singer since the start of 2010. As a writer, Mars made hits for every artist from Travie McCoy to Cee-Lo Green. While as an artist, Mars’ mainstream appeal overshadowed all of theirs.

He is considered a true representative of America’s entertainment diversity. Born Peter Hernandez to a Filipino mother and a Puerto Rican father, Mars grew up in Hawaii performing Elvis Presley songs.

His Hawaiian upbringing exposed him to musical styles like hip-hop, reggae, RnB, pop and rock. But he was mostly influenced by artists like Michael Jackson, Elvis and Terry Lewis. As a little boy, he impersonated Elvis perfectly that he became known as Little Elvis.

Now, he is, to RnB, what Michael Buble is to swing and jazz.  Modern and fresh while still so authentic and true to the essence of the genre. His guesting on Saturday Night Live made Billboard admire his many talents – from songwriting, singing and to dancing. His performance of the soulful ballad Chunky was very reminiscent of Michael Jackson.

Now comes his most self-aware album to date, 24K Magic. His previous tracks emulated Mars’ funk and RnB heroes, often delivering the catchiest songs of the decade. The upcoming album is no different as he is not shy about paying homage to the artists he listened to growing up.

24K Magic has no featured guests but it is expected to include contributions from Skrillex and Babyface. At just 9 tracks, the album features potential hit after hit. From the bouncy title track, 24K Magic, to the standout ballad Versace on the Floor.

Mars is the kind of artist who knows how to take what has worked a million times over and make it his own. 24K Magic is the best example of that yet. At this point, it is near impossible not to like a Bruno Mars album.
