Empire Season 3: Episode 5 gets delayed; Shine gets his revenge and Cookie has a big surprise

By on

It seems fans of the musical drama television series Empire have to endure another Wednesday night without the show as Fox did not air its latest episode to give way to the World Series Game 2.

The hip-hop drama has been on a two-week hiatus since last week was also postponed due to the presidential debate, but the good news is, coming as episode five is slated for a November 2 airing on the small screens.

The last time Empire season 3 episode 4 aired on Fox was on October 12, where Andre (Trai Byers) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) have been looking forward to signing Nessa (Sierra McClain) to Empire Records but Shine (Xzibit) has other plans as he has also invited other music label bosses for a bidding war.

The Lyons obviously were not happy, however, Nessa eventually did sign to Empire but not before Lucious beat Shine and got him to sign an Empire contract and threatened him with a gun because he had attacked Andre. The episode also saw a steamy threesome bed scene where Andre and Nessa had sex, but in Andre’s mind, his wife Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) was also there with them.

In the upcoming episode 5, titled One Before Another, Lucious and Andre will be on a high alert after the events of the last episode, according to Blasting News US. Apparently, Shine is not going to let what happened to him slide as he will be making a big revenge plan against the Lyons.

Meanwhile, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will be having a hard time dealing with his PTSD and fans will see him beginning to spiral and letting his addiction to painkiller medications get the better of him. It remains to be seen, however, if he can get over his fears of performing in front of a crowd as Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) will help him with his problem.

On the other hand, Cookie will be getting the last laugh on the black tie event at the Opera. As she is not appropriately dressed for the event, Cookie, being a badass as she is, apparently has a few tricks up her sleeves. She will also be getting a surprise at her latest probation meeting, especially since she thinks it is supposed to be just a routine meeting.

The upcoming episode will also see recurring cast members in Taye Diggs as Angelo Dubois, who will continue to make his play with Cookie and rapper Romeo Miller as Gram, who will also be back on the show as Hakeem’s rival.

Empire season 3 returns to Fox Wednesday night on November 2.
