People have watched a lot of popular television series over the years, but perhaps, none has enjoyed the attention that the Game of Thrones has. Thanks to the Internet, people can have all the information they can get about the show, which is a good thing. Right? As much as spoilers might be good for the fans to keep them updated, they are in fact causing the show to spiral much faster than ever to its end.
It can be remembered that the Game of Thrones showrunners’ David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been pleading for fans not to throw many spoilers because it ruins the momentum of the show. It has some advantage to it, but if one observes, too much information can dwindle the interest of the viewers even before the show starts. The logic behind it is just simple psychology.
Despite the pleas from the cast and crew, however, the spoilers just keep coming up simply because any information about the show sells. Recently, Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Missandei in the film can’t hide her frustrations regarding the spoilers and tweeted about it.
“It’s really disappointing, there are people who are determined to ruin Season 7 for everyone,” the tweet said with the hashtag #spoilsports.
She was right on that point: with all the spoilers, people will know what happens even before it happens and the show might not as well push through if this is the case. This could even lead the showrunners to scratch any future plans altogether.
Despite the frustrations, Emilia Clarke doesn’t seem to mind and thrill fans by posting a picture of her and some of the cast with the caption in caps, “THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS.” She also assured those who might not like spoilers not to worry because Jon Snow’s mom, referring to Lyanna Stark, did not appear in the picture.
So much for spoilers, but almost everyone can’t help but be excited for Game of Thrones season 7.
