Game of Thrones Season 6 episode 2 ended with Jon Snow’s revival. The entire fan base of the franchise erupted in cheers as the Lord Commander opened his eyes after Melisandre’s ritual. However, is Ned Stark’s bastard really alive as everyone is expecting him to be? If Kit Harington’s words are to be considered, then fans could either be disappointed or be excited with what awaits the character in episode 3 and beyond.

“At first, I was worried he’ll wake up and he’s the same, back to normal – then there’s no point in that death. He needs to change. He doesn’t want to die ever again. But, if he does, he doesn’t want to come back” Harington said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

According to Harington, Jon was never afraid of death before. However, since his visit to the other side of the line, Jon knows that there is nothing but emptiness present there. This has made him fear god. He does not want to die anymore. He is not the same Jon Snow as the viewer’s knew him to be.

So, does this mean that the fans can relate to him? If the character of Jon Snow changes after his return, could we really say that he is alive? According to the 29-year-old actor we can. The man from London, England suggested that Snow will now value his life more than before and this will only make him stronger to play the Game of Thrones.

One thing is certain, Jon Snow will not return from death once again. The producers of the show believe that the fans will not care for a character if there is always a chance of him coming back to life.  Hence, unlike Beric Dondarrion, Jon Snow is not immune to death anymore and should he die, we will not see him make a return.
