Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres on April 24, 2016. However, the timing of its release in the United Kingdom will be at 2 a.m. to coincide with the broadcast in the United States. A tech company in the UK is giving its employees a half-day off on April 25 so that they don’t have to worry about staying up late to catch the season 6 premiere.
+rehabstudio announced earlier this week that their staff would get the next Monday morning off. The staff members of the London and Belfast offices shouldn’t have to worry about staying up late for watching the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere.
“We’re always trying to look after our guys and make sure we’re giving them the best work environment and social life as well.” Tim Rodgers, founding partner of the company whose clients include the likes of Google, Disney and Starbucks said, according to news.com.au.
Most of the staff of +rehabstudio are massive addicts of Game of Thrones and it largely relates to the fact that major part of the award-winning series has been shot in Ireland.
The half-day leave given by the company is now in their official holiday policy.
“When your company slips you an extra morning off work to recover from a #gameofthrones binge you know you’ve hit the jackpot. Didn’t expect that in the company handbook this morning.” Emma Willis, operations director of the company shared on LinkedIn.
Rodgers also mentioned that since the announcement of the news, there has been a 20% increase in job applications. This is all due to the fact that +rehabstudio have a great, friendly culture in the office.
Working hard and playing hard is the culture which Rodgers believes helps the company in bringing in great people to work for them.
