‘Pawn Stars’ Chumlee arrested for drug and weapons possession

Chumlee of the hit reality TV show “Pawn Stars” was arrested Wednesday afternoon for drug and weapons possession at his home in Las Vegas.

TMZ first reported that Chumlee, also known as Austin Russell in real life, was at his house at the time investigators arrived to conduct a sexual assault complaint against him. But the investigators were in for a surprise as they found illegal substance and weapons inside the house.

The cast member of the TV show aired over History Channel is now in the custody of the authorities and no immediate comments were given from both Chumlee and the investigators. He is not booked though for sexual assault but is being held for drugs and weapons possession.

Fans took to the social media to air their comments about Chumlee’s arrest.

Chumlee is often regarded as the breakout character and fan favorite in the reality TV show that also stars Rick Harrison, Richard “Old Man” Harrison and Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison. He shows his expertise when it comes to pinball machines, sneakers and video games.

He started in the Pawn Shop business at the age of 21 working for the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop for five years before the filming of the TV series.

The series is filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada, where it chronicles the daily activities at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, a 24-hour family business opened in 1989. The show, which became the network’s highest rated, ranked as the number two reality show behind Jersey Shore, debuted on July 26, 2009.

The series depicts the staff’s interactions with customers, who bring in a variety of artifacts to sell or pawn, and who are shown haggling over the price and discussing its historical background, with narration provided by either the Harrisons or Chumlee.
