Real Madrid transfer news suggest that the Madrid giant has gained an advantage over rivals Barcelona in their race to sign AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe. The French teenager has reportedly rejected all advances from Blaugrana to join his favored Los Blancos.
Mbappe has revealed his admiration for Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo recently. The 18-year-old has also hinted of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the past.
However, the man from Bondy, France does not want to get fazed by the attention he is getting. Mbappe wants to keep his feet grounded and train hard.
“I remain very calm around this attention I get. I get up in the morning and I go to practice [train] like everyone else and I try to work to improve myself every day,” Mbappe said, as reported by Metro.
Real Madrid’s strong interest in Mbappe
Reportedly, Real Madrid is willing to spend anything to sign the AS Monaco striker. The player is presently the hottest property in the footballing world right now.
The Frenchman is valued at around £112 million ($139m) by AS Monaco. So, the Real Madrid hierarchy has to shell out a world-record transfer for the teenager, should they wish to add the player to their arsenal.
It is expected that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is also willing to bring the player in at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Madrid giants will bid for the player in the summer. However, it will take a lot to convince AS Monaco to sell.
This is also not the first time the 11-time Champions League winners have expressed their interest in Mbappe. Zidane recently revealed that the player joined the Los Blancos for free in 2013 but ended up in Monaco.
Manchester United also interested
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho is reportedly determined to sign Mbappe over the summer transfer window. The Portuguese gaffer is confident of molding the player into the next great global superstar along the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, an attempt to bring the player to Old Trafford will be difficult. Mbappe has already expressed a desire to move to the La Liga. When asked regarding his link to the Premier League, the 18-year-old revealed, “I do not look at what the English press say.”
Mbappe has already scored a total of 19 goals in all competitions this season. The player has been linked with the likes of Thierry Henry. The France international has already broken the Arsenal legend’s long-reigning record of the youngest player to score 13 Ligue 1 goals.
Mbappe is a versatile attacking player. He can be deployed as a center forward, left winger and also as an attacking midfielder.
