Shannen Doherty, the former Beverly Hills 90210 star, says she and her husband Kurt Iswarienko planned on having children since they married back in 2011, but she’s no longer able to due to the treatment she’s having. Shannen Doherty shaves her head and posts photos on Instagram, as she battles cancer.
The Charmed actress has been diagnosed with cancer back in August 2015.
The public primarily knows Shannen Doherty for her TV series roles in the 1990s and much throughout her career. She and her husband Kurt Iswarienko appeared on a reality series, as they planned their wedding in Shannen Says.
Shannen Doherty starred in another reality road trip show Off the Map with Shannen and Holly on January 2015, but she says her career has struggled since she was diagnosed with cancer. She says people think she can no longer perform.
The actress has remained low-key since her diagnosis, and the report says she’s been keeping positive, as she fights her illness.
“I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life. I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.” Doherty said.
She’s been diagnosed with breast cancer but says she’s willing to go through mastectomy in her interview with Dr. Oz last February.
When asked how the diagnosis has changed her life and perspective, she replied “You know, you worry most about the people that you love, and about making sure that they’re gonna be ok. So for me, that was the hardest part.”
Shannen Doherty documented her emotional struggles as she shared photos of her shaving her head, and even breaking down as she prepares to lose her hair following her treatments.
Shannen Doherty said that she’s been paralyzed with fear, and it took her some time to have aggressive treatment, which her doctors say is the only way to save her life.
During an interview with ET, Dr. Oz says on Shannen Doherty, “She was very transparent about what’s going on in her breast — she has cancer on one side, it’s a big tumor — it has spread to the lymph nodes on that side, but we don’t have any evidence that it’s gone any further than that.”
