Vikings Season 4 mid-season finale left the viewers in doubt regarding the fate of Ragnar Lothbrok and his future in the popular series. Travis Fimmel’s journey as the king of Kattegat might end as viewers await the premiere of Vikings Season 4 Episode 11. The second part could also see the rise in power of Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) as well as Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Show creator and writer Michael Hirst revealed some major plot points in a recent interview.
“Anyone who thinks that what has happened in [the mid-season finale] is the end of the story is completely wide of the mark. Ragnar’s story is not told.” Hirst confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. So, this takes away any possibility of Ragnar Lothbrok’s death when Vikings Season 4 Episode 11 hits the TV screens.
Meanwhile, in the next part of the fourth season of Vikings, we may see Queen Aslaug’s rise to power. The Queen has been extremely supportive of her husband Ragnar, but things may change now as her sons have grown. She might want to take over the reins of Kattegat. With Ragnar weak and depressed from his recent defeat to Rollo, this might be the perfect opportunity for a betrayal.
However, Aslaug may not be the only one looking to rise to power. With Lagertha being confirmed alive, she and her son Bjorn will like to take the advantage of a drug addicted Ragnar. Hirst himself confirmed that Lagertha is too important to the show to be killed off. The character has endured too much tragedy and this has made her the soul of the show, according to TV Guide.
Rumors also suggest that the second half of Viking Season 4 will revolve around the women in Ragnar’s life. Aslaug will fight for her sons, who has a greater claim to Ragnar’s throne and this could also include Ivan the Boneless, her crippled son. Lagertha may try to seize on the opportunity.
Vikings Season 4 Episode 11 is expected to be released on July, this year.
