Walking Dead 7: Two people are going to die in episode 1, director Greg Nicotero revealed

By on

One more day to go and ‘Walking Dead’ is back on our TV screens once again bloodier than ever. And everyone is waiting with great anticipation who Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is going to kill with his bat. However, it’s not just ‘someone’ but two humans will die in the first episode plus an army of the undead.

Since season 6 ended with Negan putting a dent on someone’s head with his barbed bat, everybody has been speculating who could that person be. However, a lot might have missed the great reveal ‘Walking Dead’ dead director Greg Nicotero said that there is just more than one death in the first episode of season 7. It’s not sure yet whether he said that on purpose or was just a slip of the tongue.

The great reveal comes during an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month when he was asked about the great lengths they had to do to shoot season 7. Nicotero said that they had to protect the show so that people will really feel how the character feels when the deaths happen.

“If we would have shown the deaths, then they wouldn’t have felt our characters in season 7 the way they need to,” Nicotero said.

He added that he wanted the viewers to feel how everything changes in a split second after the random violence happens, which is how they want to launch season 7.

Speaking of deaths, one of the candidates for ‘death by Negan’s barbed wire bat’ is Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). If not by Negan’s bat, he is still rumored to die this season based on the fact that some spoilers have shown Dwight (Austin Amelio) running around the area wearing Daryl’s clothes.

The premiere episode of “Walking Dead 7” will be bloodier because aside from some people dying, the total body count of the undead dying in episode one is 60. As expected, they will die by any violent means possible – smashed, shot, hacked, or stabbed.

“Walking Dead 7” will premiere on Sunday on AMC at 9 p.m. EST.
