A Brad Pitt and David Fincher reunion are on the horizon with the director reportedly being recruited by the actor/producer to direct the World War Z sequel set for release in 2017.
According to Variety’s sources, Pitt and Fincher two weeks ago to discuss the possibility that Fincher will direct the World War Z 2 movie, which stars Pitt. According to the report, the initial talks between the two were “lukewarm” but that after negotiations, there is now serious traction of the possibility of Fincher directing WWZ2.
Brad Pitt and David Fincher worked together in blockbuster Hollywood films in the past, “Fight Club”, “Se7en” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”.
World War Z is a film adaptation of the novel with the same title. It grossed more than half a million dollars worldwide and is the highest-grossing movie in Brad Pitt’s career.
The plot is unknown for World War Z 2 but the science fiction zombie apocalypse movie will follow Brad Pitt’s character Gerry Lane, who was a United Nations investigator that investigated a pandemic and turned most humans into zombies. The movie is expected to be another zombie apocalypse film.
The initial target for World War Z 2 was director Juan Antonio Bayona, but he is committed to other movies like the “Jurassic World”. WWZ2 was set for release June 9, 2017, but it will be moved because the production still does not have a director.

David Fincher is also the director of other box office hits and popular movies like “The Social Network”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “Gone Girl”. He has also worked for a couple of episode of the “House of Cards” TV series, where Fincher is also the executive producer.
