Chicago Bears traded veteran tight end Martellus Bennett to the New England Patriots on Wednesday and it looks like Bennett is quite happy to be traded to Patriots, reports Larry Brown Sports.
After Chicago Bears and the Patriots completed their deal, Bennett shared a photo on Instagram. He captioned the photo with a message. “Hi Tom I’m Marty. Let’s do this,” he wrote.
Martellus got picked up by Patriots as a fourth-round draft pick and was seen as a low-risk, high reward acquisition for the team. He is under contract for about $5 million until next season and will become a free agent after that.
Bennett is likely to be the fourth or fifth passing option behind Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Dion Lewis and the newly acquired Chris Hogan in the team.
