Four-team swap find DeMarcus Cousins to Spurs while LaMarcus Aldridge to Celtics?
Trade rumors suggest a four-team swap that would see DeMarcus Cousins to the San Antonio Spurs and Aldridge to the Boston Celtics.

Since the reports of the San Antonio Spurs entertaining the thought of trading LaMarcus Aldridge trade rumors have gone ballistic on it. Trade rumors suggest a four-team swap that would see DeMarcus Cousins to the Spurs and Aldridge to the Celtics.

Aside from the Spurs and Celtics, also included in the proposed deal are the Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder. Here is how the trade will go down starting with the Spurs as they get Cousins, Alex Abrines, Omri Casspi, and Mitch McGary.

The Spurs are looking at possibilities if they decide to cut times with Aldridge if he does not excel in his performance this season. Though many speculate that Aldridge is not happy with the Spurs’ commitment made when he signed last year. Many thought he would be the team’s main offensive weapon but last season saw him coming in second behind Kawhi Leonard in terms of his numbers.

Now that Tim Duncan has decided to retire, Aldridge hopes to pick up his performance and if not, a pending trade might work. In getting Cousins through the said deal would address the Spurs void inside the paint, despite having Pau Gasol.

Having Boogie take care of the middle of the shaded area, the Spurs could make use of Gasol in the forward spot instead. Aside from that, the Spurs could further space out the floor with Abrines in their roster as he could be an option behind Danny Green and Manu Ginobili.

For the Celtics, they would receive Aldridge, Kyle Anderson, and Jonathon Simmons while the Kings would get Amir Johnson, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Ersan Ilyasova, and Cameron Payne.

Getting Aldridge could be paired with Al Horford and form their own “Big Three” adding Isaiah Thomas in the picture. The three would be able to guide the Celtics’ young talented roster and build them up to being contenders in their own rights.

Meanwhile, the Thunder would end up with having Rudy Gay and Kosta Koufos as additions to their roster. Both could help Russell Westbrook and crew in spreading the floor with Gay filling the void left by the departure of Kevin Durant.

The trade thus makes sense as teams involve get to discuss their respective needs. With the league ready to officially tip-off next week, teams may explore this trade before the trade deadline set in Feb. next year.
