English Premier League (EPL) outfit Manchester City are reportedly interested to make a transfer bid worth $24.46 million for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas. City manager Pep Guardiola wants to bring in the former Arsenal and Barcelona man at the Etihad Stadium in the January transfer window.
Guardiola, whose City side has gone four consecutive games without winning reportedly wants to add more creative flair in his midfield. This is despite the fact that the former Barcelona manager has the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan at his disposal, according to Phil Cadden of The Sun.
Since Antonio Conte has taken over the manager’s position at Chelsea, Fabregas has found it hard to get regular game time for the Blues. Conte is known to prefer more rough midfielders in his team and Fabregas, despite being extremely creative, doesn’t fit the bill. This has left the Spaniard being started only once in the Premier League this season.
Both Fabregas and Guardiola has had experience of working together at Barcelona. The ex-Arsenal midfielder was part of the current City manager’s final season in Spain.
Fabregas could be considered as one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League. The player leads the chart in terms of assists during his time, both at Arsenal and Chelsea since 2000 in the Premier League, according to Squawka.

Despite not featuring regularly in the current Chelsea setup, Fabregas is still considered as one of the most influential creative midfielders in the game and a chance to move to another elite club of world football would appeal the player. Also, playing under the management of Pep Guardiola, who is surely considered as one of the best, if not the best manager in the world will be something the player would not like to pass by.
