Manchester United summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has found himself frozen at the club as manager Jose Mourinho is not giving him game time. The Armenian was found to train alone at the club’s AON training complex in Carrington on Sunday and doubts over his future at Old Trafford continues.
Mkhitaryan was seen on the sidelines on Saturday as Manchester United drew 0-0 with Burnley at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils failed to open up the opposition’s sturdy defense and the Armenian’s creativity in front of goal could have helped, according to Mail Online.
The creative midfielder arrived at Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund this summer for $31.6 million. He has made just one Premier League start for the first-team so far in the Premier League. His last start was against Manchester City in the derby where United were on the receiving end of a defeat.
Mourinho has constantly stated that Mkhitaryan is not match fit since he has returned from injury and hence is not being featured in the team. The player however, has failed to find place in the 18-man squad even during EFL Cup and Europa League matches, as reported by Mirror.
After the drab draw on Saturday, Mkhitaryan took to Twitter to express his sportsman spirit in support of his teammates.

Although the 27-year-old is publicly showing his support for United, internal sources claim that the player is not happy with the happenings at Old Trafford. Mkhitaryan lit up the Bundesliga last season and is surprised at the way he is being treated by Mourinho.
Ruben Hayrapetyan, Armenia Football Federation president recently revealed his shock with how the player was not being utilized by Mourinho.
“I cannot know what the Manchester manager is thinking about. I have talked with Mkhitaryan, he also doesn’t know what Jose Mourinho is thinking. Mkhitaryan trains and is in good shape but no one knows the reason (why he is not playing).” Hayrapetyan said.
Even the fans of Manchester United are frustrated with the lack of Mkhitaryan’s first-team opportunities. The hashtag #freemkhitaryan is regularly seen on social media.
