The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is certain that the face character of John Cena is as good as dead for now. The wrestling promotion is sure that Cena will not be a regular wrestler anymore and are eventually planning to give the much expected heel turn to the character when he makes more appearances on the company television from the start of next year.

Cena’s appearance on TV as the main face of WWE has been lighter this year. CageMatch.net reports that the top guy of the company has made a total of only 44 matches this year, which is way below than his average number. If recent reports are to be believed, then the number won’t be increasing anytime soon in 2016, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Survivor Series is the next big pay-per-view (PPV) of WWE, which is approaching on November 20, 2016. The wrestling promotion is planning to bet big on it’s RAW vs. SmackDown rivalry and will book an elimination match between the two brands, featuring wrestlers from both halves of the company’s talent pool.

It is being predicted that John Cena will make a surprise appearance in this Survivor Series match representing SmackDown, which will feature the likes of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt, according to INQUISITR.

On his return next year, John Cena is rumored to be booked as a heel, who will supposedly be chasing his 16th WWE World Heavyweight Championship. If he manages to win it, he will tie with Ric Flair for the most world titles in the history of professional wrestling. This match could headline WrestleMania 33 in 2017.

On the other hand, if Cena decides against chasing the world championship, he could be booked in a match against The Undertaker, provided The Phenom is ready to wrestle next year.

There are rumors and speculations going strong within the company regarding the future of John Cena being a regular wrestler. The 39-year-old has been struggling with health issues and injuries which have halted his career progress of late. However, if he manages to keep himself fit, he will supposedly have more matches than he has had this year.

The man from Tampa, Florida is mostly a part-time wrestler for WWE at the moment. This is the main reason why the wrestling promotion is considering tuning him a heel when he returns. This is something the fans of WWE have been demanding for a long time.

Turning the Cenation leader heel will be a major decision taken by the WWE. But, will Cena be sure about that? Only time holds the answer.
