Rumors and speculations are now swirling with the New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony who is said to be leaving the team next season.

Carmelo Anthony was having a hard time adjusting with the Knicks’ triangle offense and it seemed like he does not have faith with the team’s offensive strategy. He was also disappointed after the team was unable to enter the playoffs after finishing 13th at the Eastern Conference, posting a 32-50 win-loss record.

Though Anthony expressed his intention to return to the Knicks next season, he also admitted that he wants to play for a ‘winner’.

“I think about it,’’ Anthony said when asked if he’s ever envisioned leaving New York for a winner via New York Post. “The only thing I think about is winning more — whether it’s here or somewhere else. That’s the only thing I think about. I haven’t thought about putting myself on another team. My thought process is how can I win and make this situation better. What can we all do to make this situation better?’’

There is no doubt that Carmelo Anthony was one of the greatest player in the league. Unfortunately, his great performance was not enough to win even one NBA championship title.

According to Gospel Herald, Carmelo Anthony wanted Kevin Durant or Rajon Rondo to sign with Knicks to help him carry the team to a new level. However, there were rumors that Durant and Rondo were not interested to be part of the squad.

The possible move for Carmelo Anthony is to be part of the team where Durant or Rondo will choose play in the upcoming off-season.

Based on a previous report, there might be a greater possibility that Kevin Durant will be part of the Lakers next season. Anthony was also pursued by the Lakers last season but failed to close the deal.

Since Anthony’s main goal is to have an NBA championship title, he might consider not demanding a high salary cap in order to have additional star players for the Lakers. If the Durant-Anthony rumor comes to a reality, it will be a big boost for the Lakers knowing that they will be having two superstars to depend on.

Also, if Lakers hire the right coach for the team, the NBA championship title next season will surely be within reach.
