NBA rumors are now swirling with Jeremy Lin who will be joining the Chicago Bulls next season after the disappointing loss of the Charlotte Hornets in Game 7 of their playoff series against the Miami Heat.

Based on a previous report, Lin signed a two-year deal worth $4.374 million with the Hornets before the start of the 2015-16 season and he has a “player option for the 2016-17 season. This means that there is a possibility that Lin could explore the free agency market and search for a team where can be maximized and used properly.

Jeremy Lin’s performance this season was undeniably better than he was with Lakers. However, he felt like the minutes given to him by Hornets Coach Steve Clifford was not enough to unleash his full potential since he was only coming off the bench as a substitute for Kemba Walker or Courtney Lee.

The Charlotte Hornets will be having Jeremy Lin, Marvin Williams and Nic Batum in the free agency market. Though they want to re-sign all players, they will end up having a problem with the team’s salary cap.

According to report in an ESPN Insider discussion, all experts agree that Batum should be the Hornets’ main priority. They said that the Hornets should max him out rather than lose him since he will surely be having lots of suitors if he becomes a free agent. Also, the Hornets might consider re-signing Williams over Lin since he established to be more effective for the team and had a good three-point percentage.

However, there will surely be lots of team looking for a veteran point guard in the upcoming off-season, including the Chicago Bulls. Despite having Derrick Rose in their team, the Bulls were having a hard time getting the full potential of Rose for having multiple injuries so they might consider trading him to give the team a chance to sign another franchise player.

Jeremy Lin can be a good fit with the Chicago Bulls especially with the fast paced offense by the Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg. Also, Lin can be a good combination with Jimmy Butler to lead the team’s offense.

If the Bulls choose to free Rose, signing Lin together with another superstar free agent will not be a problem since they will be having a huge salary cap.
