Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Boston Celtics who are reportedly interested in acquiring John Wall from the Washington Wizards.

The Boston Celtics are one of the NBA teams who dreamt of contending for the title in the upcoming season. With the addition of Al Horford on their roster, the Celtics are projected to finish in the second spot in the Eastern Conference, considering them as one of the teams who can threaten LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

When the Celtics acquired Horford, they tried to lure Kevin Durant, but failed after he decided to join the Golden State Warriors. However, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge revealed that they are not yet done in upgrading their roster, hinting the possibility that something huge can happen during the 2016-17 NBA season.

The Boston Celtics are frequently mentioned in various trade rumors this offseason involving superstars like Blake Griffin, DeMarcus Cousins, and Paul George. According to Jonathan Reisman of 12up, the Celtics are one of the teams who can explore trading for John Wall of the Washington Wizards.

In late August, John Wall revealed that he had on-court issues with Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal.

“I think a lot of times we have a tendency to dislike each other on the court. We got to be able to put that to the side. If you miss somebody on one play or don’t have something go right … as long as you come to each other and talk. If I start arguing with somebody I’m cool. I’m just playing basketball,” Wall said.

According to Chris Almeida of The Ringer, the Washington Wizards should trade John Wall. Most Eastern Conference teams have made a huge improvement on their roster this offseason. Though the Wizards are projected to finish in the 8th seed in the East, the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls will surely give a tough fight in earning a playoff spot.

John Wall will be playing his 7th season with the Wizards as their franchise player. Despite his impressive performance, the championship title is still not in sight with their current roster. Almeida suggested that the Wizards could engage in a trade deal with a team like the Boston Celtics.

In a suggested trade scenario, the Celtics would be sending Jonas Jerebko, Avery Bradley and one of the future Brooklyn picks to the Wizards for John Wall. This works on the ESPN trade machine.

As of now, trading John Wall seems unlikely for the Wizards. They must be focusing now on returning to the playoffs in the upcoming season. If the Wizards struggle again, expect them to make a move before the trade deadline.
