After bowing down to the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls, the Indiana Pacers are still not in the position to challenge LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Pacers will trade Myles Turner and Monta Ellis to the Sacramento Kings for DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore.

The Indiana Pacers are one of the NBA teams who is expected to show a good performance in the 2016-17 NBA season. In the recent offseason, the Pacers decided to rebuild their roster, surrounding Paul George with quality players whom they think could help him bring the team to the championship.

However, it is very noticeable that the Pacers still struggle despite the addition of Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young. According to Andrew Johnson of SB Nation’s Indy Cornrows, the Pacers should consider adding another superstar in their team. Johnson believed that the Paul George-DeMarcus Cousins tandem could bring the Pacers back in title contention.

DeMarcus Cousins has been frequently mentioned in various trade rumors in the past months. Despite having an impressive performance, the Kings continue to struggle and projected to extend their playoff drought. As most predictions said, Boogie could leave the Kings when he becomes a free agent in 2018.

Andrew Sharp and Rob Mahoney of Sports Illustrated picked DeMarcus Cousins as the NBA star who could be traded during the 2016-17 NBA season. The Kings are yet to address the logjam in their frontcourt after selecting Skal Labissiere and Georgios Papagiannis in the recent NBA draft. If they suffer another disappointing season, there is no doubt that Cousins will leave in 2018 if he will not be traded.

In a suggested trade scenario, the Pacers could engage in a deal with the Kings that would send Myles Turner, Monta Ellis, and 2017 first-round pick to Sacramento for DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore. The Pacers will also send a salary cap filler in order for the deal to become successful.

Will the Kings finally trade the face of the franchise? Can the DeMarcus Cousins-Paul George tandem dethrone LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers?
