Sasha Banks surprisingly dropped the Raw Women’s championship to Charlotte at Hell in a Cell and many fans at home and attendance were upset about it. The latest WWE rumors have revealed the real reason why “The Boss” lost the title last Sunday.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the original plan was Sasha retaining the championship and ending the feud with Charlotte. However, it was changed before the match with the Charlotte-Bayley feud with the title was moved earlier.

“Vince screwed it up even worse because the original finish was Sasha Banks going over. Why that was changed… I mean, there is a reason. I don’t know the reason other than the decision was made to go with Charlotte and Bayley sooner than later, like sooner than it was originally going to be. Why? I don’t know,” Meltzer said (h/t Cageside Seats).

One of the possible reasons why the WWE decided to have a Charlotte-Bayley feud now is because of the possibility of turning Sasha Banks heel. Several WWE rumors around September suggest that Bayley will face a heel Sasha at WrestleMania 33 next year.

Nevertheless, these rumors have not been confirmed and there could be more to why Vince McMahon decided to play hot potato on the Raw women’s championship. As of this week on Raw, “The Boss” was nowhere to be seen, probably to sell all the bumps he got from the Hell in a Cell Match last Sunday.

According to The Inquisitr, many people believe that the real reason why Sasha Banks dropped the title is because of an injury. However, the WWE is not stupid enough to have her take dangerous bumps if she was already injured.

The Raw Women’s championship will not be defended at Survivor Series with Charlotte leading Team Raw in the 5-on-5 match against Team SmackDown. Nia Jax and Bayley are already on the team with Dana Brooke and Sasha Banks expected to be added soon.
