The defending World Cup champions Germany start their defense by making sure they qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia as they visit Norway in Group C action. Here are all the things you need to know for Norway vs. Germany including previews, predicted lineups, and live stream.
Die Mannschaft is coming off a 2-0 friendly win over Finland in their final preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifying matches. It was also the final match for midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who retired from international duty.
German head coach Joachim Low wants his team to be focused against Norway and forget their disappointing EURO 2016. He also does not want a rocky qualification for Russia and points out that this game is very important.
“We’ve not come to Norway to enjoy the beautiful scenery, we are here to win. It was hard for us in the qualification round for Euro 2016 because we lost our first away game and I don’t want such an average qualifying campaign this time. It’s very important for us to be fully focused tomorrow night and to get three points,” Low said in a press conference, via ESPN.
On the other hand, Norway has lost two straight international matches against Belgium and Belarus. Drillos manager Per-Mathias Høgmo surprisingly dropped wonderkid Martin Odegaard from the squad. Nevertheless, the Germans will come out of Norway with three points via a 3-0 win.
