Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his team possesses the qualities required to win the Premier League title this season. The Frenchman has revealed that his players have the “maturity” required to keep them challenging until the end of the season.
“Maturity is what you want to show. I believe so, yes, but that’s what we want to show over a longer distance, you know, and that’s what is at stake. Overall I believe it can convince the team that we’re playing the right way.” Wenger said, as reported by Mirror.
The 67-year-old agreed however that November will be difficult with tough fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United coming up. But, if the Gunners are able to come out of it in good condition, the chances of winning the Premier League will be great, according to independent.ie.
Arsenal are currently level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. With striker Olivier Giroud and midfielder Aaron Ramsey returning from injuries, Wenger has more options available at his disposal.
Meanwhile, the Gunners manager has compared Ramsey with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. The player has been termed as a key cog and could feature for Arsenal in their upcoming Champions League match against Ludogorets Ragrad.
“He is Lampard-ish, you know, he likes to get in the box and shoot from distance, they have similar qualities.” Wenger added.
Wenger stated Ramsey as a box-to-box midfielder who drives and pushes the team forward. His involvement is what is needed in the Arsenal team. The Frenchman has also praised the Welshman’s versatility as he is able to play both as a holding midfielder as well as on the flanks.
