Barcelona will complete the signing of Villarreal attacking midfielder Denis Suarez after letting the player leave last summer. The Catalan giants have decided to activate the buy back clause of the player after seeing him develop into a much refined player with more first-team opportunities.
“FC Barcelona have deposited 3,250,000 euros ($3.6 million) for the right to buy back the player. The buy out clause for the player has been set at 50 million euros ($58 million),” the official website of the club said.
The 22-year-old has developed nicely as a player after getting regular football at the Estadio El Madrigal. The Spaniard also spent some time on loan at Sevilla during the 2014-2015 season. The man from Salceda de Caselas, Spain joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2013 and featured for the B-team of the Catalan club.
Denis Suarez made 33 appearances for Villarreal in the La Liga last season in which he scored 4 goals for the club. He created a total of 46 chances in which 4 of them were assists. Suarez completed a total of 681 passes for his team in which 73% were accurate and 78% were forward passes, according to Squawka.com.
Suarez is mainly an attacking midfielder, who is equally adept at playing in all the positions in the final-third. However, he prefers to play centrally as a more creative threat. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the current Barcelona setup.
The Spanish international will be hoping to make more impact at the Camp Nou this time around as it is believed that the player wanted first-team assurances before signing a deal for his return.
