Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho discussed the future of goal-scoring machine Neymar and the possibility of him jumping to rival ball club Real Madrid in an interview on radio show “El Partido de las 12.’
Ronaldinho, once hailed as the best football player in the world at some point during his prime, has great confidence in Neymar becoming the no.1 football in the planet, as he think his fellow Brazilian is ripe to take over the game.
When asked about the chances of him leaving Camp Nuo to join Galacticos down the road, Ronaldinho doesn’t think it will ever happen, stressing Neymar is happy where he is at right now.
“I don’t think he will go to Real Madrid,” Ronaldinho said via Goals.com. “Hopefully, Neymar will be the best in the world, he’s very talented and is at the best club in the world. I think he’ll get there.”
The Barcelona legend also thinks that Messi is still the gold standard in football right now, more so after the Argentine bagged his fifth Ballon d’Or award.
“I see the club very well. For me it’s still the best team in the world. The fifth Ballon Messi is fantastic. it’s one of the things that gives me joy. Messi wins Ballon d’Or as many as you like, I think the others are still well below.”
Ronaldinho, a two-time FIFA World Player of the Year winner, was rumored to be the target of Premier League leading ball club Leicester City, but the Brazilian reportedly turned down the deal to salvage better compensation in China, according to Mundo Deportivo via Caughtoffside.com.
If the deal had materialized, Ronaldinho would have played in the Premier League for the first time in his career after stops in Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
