Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele wants Barcelona transfer

The teenage wonderkid of Borussia Dortmund, Ousmane Dembele has revealed his dream of playing for La Liga giants Barcelona one day. The 19-year-old French forward has termed the Catalan club as his ultimate destination.

Despite claiming to ultimately end up in Barcelona, Dembele has claimed that he is happy to currently feature for Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. He has revealed his desire to develop as a player in Germany before making his dream move to Spain.

“Not now, because I want to grow and be a protagonist every Sunday. But one day I will play for Barcelona.” Dembele said, as reported by Mail Online, via Mundo Deportivo.

The man from Vernon, France is already a regular starter in the Dortmund team. His start to life in Germany has been perfect and have already scored one goal for his club including four assists in ten appearances in all competitions, according to Squawka.

Ousmane Dembele was scouted by a number of big European clubs before he chose to join Dortmund last summer. Among those big clubs chasing for the player’s signature, Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City, who are the reigning Premier League champions were also involved.

However, the former Rennes man decided to commit his recent future to Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund. Based on his initial performances for the German club, it seems that the player has made the correct decision.

If Dembele wants to ultimately play for Barcelona, Dortmund could be the perfect stepping stone for him. Dortmund and Dembele will be involved in Bundesliga action this week on October 14 against Hertha Berlin at the Westfalenstadion.
