The transfer window has already closed but USMNT and Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic still keeps getting involved in rumors. The latest transfer rumors suggest that Pulisic might become a target of Manchester United after the 17-year-old revealed that he is a big fan of the Red Devils.
In a recent interview with ESPN, the Dortmund midfielder said that he grew up watching Manchester United. He also mentioned that his favorite player to watch play is England and United captain Wayne Rooney.
“I was a big Manchester United fan when I was younger, so I loved to watch Wayne Rooney. I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though. I think his passion for the game is something you don’t see much in players. That’s what I loved about him,” Pulisic said.
It is a big blow for Liverpool which had a £11 million bid for Christian Pulisic that was rejected by Dortmund at the end of the transfer window, per The Daily Mail. The German side has already included the youngster to their Champions League squad and his recent performance for the USMNT means he won’t be going anywhere.
On the other hand, United has to be pleased about hearing their club since signing Pulisic will open up a lot of business opportunities. Besides having the potential of becoming a world class player, the Hershey, Pennsylvania native opens the door for the American market to European clubs
Nevertheless, Pulisic is in good hands with Dortmund and head coach Thomas Tuchel. The German club is the perfect team for him to develop into a world class player. Even though he is a lot of competition for playing time, he has a real shot in beating regulars such as Shinji Kagawa and Gonzalo Castro for a spot in Dortmund’s starting eleven.
Christian Pulisic made history in the USMNT game against Trinidad and Tobago as he became the youngest player ever to start in a World Cup qualifying game. According to Deadspin, he was the best player in the game after getting two assists and creating opportunities with ease.
