Colombia and Chile are set to clash at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla, Colombia on Thursday as part of the ongoing 2018 CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying matches. Colombia vs. Chile Preview

Colombia (5W-2D-3L) is barely hanging on the fourth spot in the table with 17 points and sure qualification for the 2018 World Cup. La Tricolor is coming off a 2-2 draw against Uruguay last month but they will have an extra attacker heading into the match against Chile.

Striker Radamel Falcao has been called up to the national team and he is expected to play his first international game for Colombia in 13 months, per Falcao is in fine form for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco as he has scored eight goals in the past 10 games.

“I’m pleased with this new opportunity. I’ve worked hard to be able to return to the Colombian national team. It’s a call-up that I’d been waiting for a long time. Thank God I could play, score goals, and earn the merit to be her,” Falcao said.

On the other hand, Chile (5W-1D-4L) is barely hanging on to the fifth and final spot in the tournament with 16 points. The fifth seed in the CONMEBOL is set to face a representative from the Oceania Confederation in a playoff match.
