Everton Transfer News & Rumors: Leo Lacroix targeted by new boss Ronald Koeman

English Premier League (EPL) club Everton have tabled a transfer bid worth $8.6 million for central defender, Leo Lacroix of FC Sion. The new Toffees boss, Koeman is eyeing to strengthen the squad he has inherited from previous manager, Roberto Martinez.

The Toffees are expected to be busy in this transfer window as they want to improve upon the areas of the team, which influenced their poor performance last season. Defense was the key-area of the team which yielded poor results and hence it is the first position Koeman is looking to strengthen, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Leo Lacroix is the defender whom Koeman believes could be the solution the the Blues’ shaky defense. However, Everton are not the only club chasing the FC Sion player. Italian Serie A club, AC Milan and EPL rivals Stoke City are also interested in the player.

Despite being interested, neither AC Milan nor Stoke City has made a bid for the player, and this leaves Everton in the pole position to sign the man from Lausanne, Switzerland. The Swiss football club are yet to accept the bid though and are reportedly waiting to see what offer Milan or Stoke submits before giving their decision on Everton’s bid.

It has to be noted that Lacroix featured for Sion in their Europa League match against Premier League opposition Liverpool. The defender featured for 90 minutes in both the matches against their Merseyside opponents and delivered a fantastic performance.
