S.S. Lazio wants Leonardo Pavoletti to wear their jersey in the upcoming season and are doing everything in their power to bring the striker at Stadio Olimpico. Lazio president Claudio Lotito had dinner with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi where both spoke about the transfer of the striker.
Lazio wants a replacement for German legend Miroslav Klose who retired at the end of the 2015-16 season. They see a perfect replacement in Pavoletti, who had an amazing run in front of goal for Genoa last season, as reported by football-italia.net.
The 27-year-old scored 14 goals in 25 appearances for Genoa last season. He had a shot accuracy of 48% and created a total of an impressive 23 chances for his team. He also has an average pass accuracy of 70% with an average pass length of 14 meters, according to Squawka.com.
The 6-ft-2 striker will not be expensive for Lazio to capture and will probably be available for a price of $7.7 million. Lazio is not the only club in the transfer market who wants the striker at their disposal. Several Premier League clubs are also in the reckoning to sign the man from Livorno, Italy.
Meanwhile, Pavoletti has disclosed within his closed circles that he wants to move to a club which will offer him regular playing time. Although he is enjoying his time at Genoa, the striker feels that he needs a change and a move is welcome at this point of his career.
Neither of the clubs have made an official statement confirming the news, but it is expected that Pavoletti will not be a Genoa player much longer.
