Manchester United being linked with a big-name superstar in the transfer market is nothing new and amidst all the rumors linking Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to Old Trafford, another rumor of James Rodriguez to the Theater of Dreams resurfaces.

Latest reports are suggesting that the Colombian is “tempted” by a switch to the English Premier League (EPL). Several clubs in England like West Ham United, Chelsea apart from United are also interested to sign the attacking midfielder. French Ligue 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain has also expressed their interest in the 25-year-old. However, neither of these clubs has approached Madrid with an official transfer bid yet, as reported by Spanish outlet Marca.

Rodriguez is currently unhappy with his prospects at the Spanish capital. Despite having a brilliant first season with the Los Blancos, the man from Cúcuta, Colombia lost his place in the team after Zinedine Zidane took charge of the proceedings. The Frenchman preferred defensive midfielder, Casemiro over Rodriguez and things slowly started to go downhill for the Columbian.

Real Madrid values the player at around $79 million and will not go lower than that to sell Rodriguez. The transfer amount could be a stumbling block for United and the other teams chasing, since no one would want to spend so much on a player who has been spending more time on the bench than on the field for major part of last season.

United have already brought in the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan this season, who plays a similar role and position to Rodriguez. The Red Devils also has Juan Mata in that position and hence money could be better spent elsewhere.

But, with how things are going on in the transfer market at the moment, and with Manchester United’s new vision of starting their very own Galactico era, it won’t be surprising to see James Rodriguez making his way to Old Trafford this summer.
