Italian Serie A champions Juventus will soon see F.C. Barcelona’s Dani Alves scorching the Juventus Stadium next season. The Brazilian will play for the Bianconeri for the next three seasons. Beppe Marotta, general director of Juventus confirmed the news.
“I can confirm that talks with Dani Alves are going well and that we’re satisfied about that.” Marotta said, according to SPORT – via SkySports Italia. Although he did not officially announce the deal, it is believed that everything has been finalized for the defender to make his way to Turin. Italian media believes that the player will be unveiled on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old Alves made 29 appearances for Barcelona in La Liga last season. He won 37 tackles in the league with a success rate of 38%. He also made 46 interceptions, six blocks and 36 clearances for the team, as reported by Squawka.com.
So what does the signing of Alves mean for current Juventus right back Stephan Lichtsteiner. Marotta confirmed that the Swiss footballer will remain at the club and will continue to play for the Old Lady.
Marotta also revealed some details on Javier Mascherano and Andre Gomes. He confirmed that the club is in talks regarding the signing of Mascherano from Barcelona and Gomes from Valencia, but nothing has been confirmed to comment further on the topic. However, he was quick to note that the Catalan club doesn’t want to see Mascherano leave them and that may cause a hindrance in the transfer.
Meanwhile, Marotta confirmed that Spanish striker Alvaro Morata will return to Spain. Real Madrid will exercise their right to re-sign the player and the club cannot do anything about it.
