With Manchester United suffering a heavy defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, chances of them making the top four have become thinner with Louis Van Gaal on the brink of getting sacked. Jose Mourinho, the man tipped to replace Van Gaal has stated that he will take his plans to the next club who really want him and makes him feel comfortable.

“I’ll take my ideas to where they are wanted. I need to feel comfortable and like to be where I am truly wanted.” Mourinho said, as reported by ESPN.

The self-proclaimed Special One expressed his desire to manage in “a difficult league” and “where there are no easy targets.” The 53-year-old also revealed that he will manage a football club in the upcoming summer, despite not knowing where he is headed. However, based on his criteria’s, there are not many options for him to choose from.

Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea last December, just seven months after winning the Premier League title with the club and has since been without a job. Since Manchester United’s disastrous run under Louis Van Gaal has continued this season, the Portuguese manager has been constantly linked with the 20-time English Premier League champions.

In the past, the man from Setubal, Portugal has expressed his desire of winning at least one trophy in every major league in Europe. He has won the Premier League with Chelsea, La Liga with Real Madrid, Serie A with Inter Milan and the Portuguese Liga with Porto.

This leaves the French Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga his next destinations. However, with Bayern already appointing Carlo Ancelotti for next season, Mourinho is unlikely to head that way. Given his comment recently of aiming to manage in “a difficult league” Paris-Saint Germain’s easy run in the French League might put him off from going there as well.

Real Madrid has been linked with a reunion with their former coach, however, in terms of certain reports Mourinho have already signed a deal to manage Manchester United next season.

Manchester United are currently in a turmoil and their recent loss to Tottenham Hotspur makes them further away from the Champions League, which will have a disastrous effect on the club, financially as well as in terms of attracting the top players. Hiring a world-class coach in the form of Mourinho will give them a major boost in terms of challenging for the title next season even without the allure of the Champions League.

“It’s a matter of thinking, to come to a good decision and deciding it. In the summer, at the end of the season, everyone will know what my next club will be.” Mourinho said.
