Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to add more creativity to his side’s attack. The Portuguese manager is interested to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antonio Girezmann in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mourinho is reportedly moaning over United’s creativity upfront as the team suffered three consecutive defeats in September. The 53-year-old sees Griezmann as the perfect player to offer him that, according to Manchester Evening News.

However, Manchester United’s plans to bring the Frenchman during the 2017 summer transfer window could take a hit. Atletico has been banned from making transfers until 2018 for breaching rules regarding the signing of foreign players aged under 18.

But, the decision could be revoked. Atletico along with Real Madrid will appeal Fifa’s decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, according to Squawka.com.

Mourinho is also looking to bring in two defensive signings in January, next year. The Red Devils are currently without Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling through injury. Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are the only center-backs available for selection and the former Real Madrid manager wants quality cover.

United were interested in signing Southampton defender Jose Fonte during the summer. But, they did not submit any bid for the player.

The Red Devils have not been active in the recent January transfer windows. The last time they spent during the winter was three years ago. Juan Mata was signed in for a then-club record $46.2 million.

Since then United have brought in Victor Valdes. But, the former Barcelona goalkeeper was a free transfer signing.

Atletico Madrid searching Griezmann replacement in Thomas Lemar?

Atletico Madrid are interested in Monaco winger Thomas Lemar. The Frenchman has also shown an interest to make a move to the Spanish capital next summer.

Lemar is valued at around $37 million by Monaco and the Madrid club has to pay the amount in full to sign the player. Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also reportedly chasing the winger’s signature.

The player has been sensational for the French club. The 21-year-old recently scored his seventh goal of the season against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

The player has impressed with his speed, dribbling skills and an eye for goal.
