Italian Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly looking at Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic as their Paul Pogba replacement. The Frenchman is all but joining Manchester United for a world record fee this summer and the Old Lady want’s to cash the money in signing Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain form Napoli and Matic.

Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri want’s Matic as his first choice to replace Pogba, should the Frenchman leave the club. Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko is the second option if a transfer bid for Matic fails to materialize. However, Chelsea are expecting a massive bid for their midfielder and if the amount is good, then they will let the player leave, as reported by Daily Mail.

Serbian international Matic was one of the underperforming players for the Blues last season. He made a comeback to Stamford Bridge from Benfica for $39.37 million in 2014 and made an immediate impact, guiding Chelsea to an English Premier League (EPL) title.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has revealed that he would love to keep Matic in his squad. However, after signing N’Golo Kante from Leicester City, it is unsure how the Italian is thinking of using the Serbian in his plans.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy decided to spend $39.37 million on Kante and the Frenchman will be a sure-shot starter for the Blues this season. Hence, if they have the opportunity to make a sizeable profit on Matic, it will be bad business if they decide against it.

Conte reportedly wants to make four more signings at the club to build a team under his own image. The former Juventus manager will need to let go of a few players if he wishes to fulfill his aim this season.

Chelsea has flown to USA this Sunday where they will be continuing their pre-season preparations. The Blues will be playing matches against Liverpool, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
