After falling out of the Premier League title race miserably this season, Arsenal has been given a major boost in the transfer market by Napoli midfielder Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos. According to the Brazilian’s representative, La Liga giant, Real Madrid is also in contention to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

“Real Madrid and Arsenal know Jorginho if they came forward with an official offer we’d talk but at the moment, all I can say is that Jorginho has a five-year contract with Napoli,” Santos said, as reported by Metro.

Jorginho has a pass accuracy of 91% this season in the Serie A and has created a total of 47 chances for Napoli. The man from Imbituba, Brazil can be considered as a rough tackler since he has already been on the receiving end of 7 yellow cards and 1 red card, as reported by

Jorginho may be the player whom Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger wants to add in the upcoming transfer window but is he the player the Gunners need? Arsenal has been devoid of a top class striker and according to many experts, it would be wiser for Wenger to spend more money on a goal getter and not a midfielder. The club from London is already stacked with some good quality players in the middle.

Meanwhile, it seems to be a luxury for Real Madrid to want Jorginho considering they already have two good solid midfielders in the form of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. However, Kroos has been tipped to leave the club next summer, so a move for Jorginho may heighten up the speculation.

Meanwhile, Jorginho’s agent has confirmed that his client will only feature in a club who plays in the Champions League next season. The Brazilian has a five-year contract with his current club and will certainly come expensive for either Madrid or Arsenal, whoever decides to cash in on the midfielder.
