Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco has confirmed contract renewal talks with the club. The 24-year-old Spaniard has expressed interest from both sides towards securing a long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I still have this year and next [on my contract], both the club and myself are looking forward [to a renewal] and we hope to sort it out. I’m getting continuity now and am happy to help the team.” Isco said, as reported by MARCA.
Isco still has 18 months left on his current Real Madrid contract. The former Malaga player seems to have found his satisfaction in Madrid after reports suggested otherwise in the summer, according to football-espana.net.
Serie A giant Juventus and Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly courting the player over the summer. However, recent strong performances seem to have convinced Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane on the player’s worthiness to the club.

The man from Benalmadena, Spain has made a total of 9 appearances for Los Blancos in the La Liga this season. He has found the net twice and has created 12 chances for the team. Isco has a shot accuracy of 67% and an average pass accuracy of 89%, according to Squawka.
Real Madrid need to defeat Borussia Dortmund to top Champions League group
Real Madrid defeated Sporting Lisbon in Lisbon in their Champions League Group F encounter. The Los Blancos’ victory ensures their progression into the last sixteen stage of the competition.
However, in order to top the group, Real has to beat Borussia Dortmund at the Bernabeu on October 7, 2016. Isco is confident of a positive performance from the team. The attacking midfielder believes that the match could be similar to that of the recent Madrid derby.
“That’s an important game, against a team that plays well on the counter-attack. We will have to be patient, as we were versus Atleti.” Isco added.
