Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has a major chance of getting transferred to Real Madrid this summer, his agent, Cezary Kucharski confirmed. The Polish international has a contract with the Munich club until 2019, but it won’t stop him from considering his options if the Los Blancos come up with a huge offer.
Lewandowski has already held talks with Real Madrid regarding a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu and if everything falls into place, we could see the 27-year-old leave Germany after spending six years in the country. It has to be noted that the Poland international has failed to strike an extension on his contract with Bayern this April, which is due to expire in 2019, as reported by theguardian.
“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It’s a big and exciting club. We have informed FC Bayern that we’ve held talks with Madrid.” Kucharski said.
Many within the football fraternity are unhappy with Lewandowski not willing to respect his contract with the Bundesliga giants. But, his agent was very clear in mentioning that contracts are not a “holi relic” in modern football. Players are always trying something new and meaningful.
According to reports, Real Madrid have to shell out anything above $73 million to prise Lewandowski away from Bayern. Los Blancos also has to offer a sizeable contract to the Polish international. Madrid are willing to give a six-year-contract to Lewandowski worth around $27 million a year.
There has been no official update from either of the clubs regarding the news.
