The Chinese Super League is making headlines in the world of football. Teams from the CSL are splashing ridiculous amount of money to bring in world class stars who made their names in Europe. Here is SportsRageous’ list of the ten best players currently in the Chinese Super League.

1. Carlos Tevez, FW – Shanghai Shenhua

Tevez is one of the best forwards of his generation. At the age of 32, he is still one of the best players in the world. He has not played his first game in China just yet but he could easily break the league’s goal scoring record. He is currently the world’s highest-paid footballer with a £615,000 per week salary.

2. Oscar, MF – Shanghai SIPG

One of the most shocking and controversial moves this winter transfer was Oscar transferring from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG. The 25-year-old midfielder is in his prime and he should have moved to a different European club. Oscar has been compared to fellow compatriot Kaka in terms of his playmaking abilities.

3. Axel Witsel, MF – Tianjin Quanjian

Another controversial move is Axel Witsel from Zenit to Tianjin Quanjian. The Belgian international was set to move to Juventus but chose the bigger salary in China. Witsel will become one of the ten highest-paid footballers in the world once his move to Tianjin is finalized.

4. Ramires, MF – Jiangsu Suning

Ramires was the first big name to join the Chinese Super League last season. He moved from Chelsea to Jiangsu Suning for £25 million. In a total of 38 appearances in all competitions last season, Ramires scored five goals.

5. Alex Teixeira, MF – Jiangsu Suning

Hulk was chased by many top clubs in Europe but he remained with Porto and Zenit during his time there. He joined Shanghai SIPG June of last season for a fee of €55.8 million and an annual salary of €20 million. However, he missed two months due to injury and he only managed to in seven games but scoring in four of them.

7. Graziano Pelle, FW – Shandong Luneng

One of last season’s shock transfers was Graziano Pelle moving from Southampton to Shandong Luneng. He is also one of the world’s highest-paid footballers as he earns £13.5 million per year. In 13 league games in his first year in China, Pelle only managed to score five goals.

8. Ezequiel Lavezzi, FW – Hebei China Fortune

The former PSG forward was linked with big clubs like Barcelona last winter transfer window but he decided to join Hebei China Fortune. However, Lavezzi only played for them a total of ten games because he picked up an injury during the Copa America while on international duty.

9. Gervinho, FW – Hebei China Fortune

The former Arsenal and Roma star arrived in the Chinese Super League last season. In 18 league games, he scored only thrice while also picking up a knee injury. He will miss the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

10. Jackson Martinez, ST – Guangzhou Evergrande
