Cris Cyborg wants to fight Rousey at 140 lbs

By on

Just a few months ago, the name of Cris Cyborg has been thrown out in the open as the only fighter that could probably stop the invincible Ronda Rousey.

Now after seeing Rousey get defeated by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia – the manager of Cyborg gave this text message to MMAjunkie

“No doubt who is the baddest on the planet,” said Prajin. “There is no belt on the line – let’s do 140. She has nothing to hide behind now.”

Both fighters are competing in different fight leagues with Cyborg under the Invicta FC banner. But Dana White just confirmed that there is a possibility that Cyborg would be the best fighter to go up against Ronda and there are negotiations in making it happen.

Cyborg definitely believes that she can hand out Rousey’s second loss in Mixed Martial Arts. Here are here comments after watching Holm defeat Rousey.

“I knew the way. I already knew Ronda could not take a punch. “Cyborg told Combate. “I said it before that she had never been really punched in the face before. If you watch her sparring sessions, only Ronda would hit, nobody would hit her back and we know what the sport is like. She had never taken an opponent who knew how to strike and had knockout power.  Most girls she faced were flyweights who moved up, but not Holly Holm. She is my size and that mattered.”

“I believe that’s why Ronda said she would only fight me if I dropped to bantamweight, because she’s aware of my physical strength, my size, and she knows that would be a problem for her. Holly Holm is as tall as me, it’s the same, there was no need for someone from a heavier weight class. She came from the same weight class and showed Ronda reality.”

Holm gave the possibility that there would be a rematch with Rousey and once asked if the rematch happens, this is what Cyborg has to say:

“I think Holly wins again.”
