Bryan gave an emotional speech Monday night on RAW and finally announced that after 16 years he is retiring from Wrestlemania.
Daniel said that due to health and medical reasons he is retiring from the sport.
Revealing that within the first five months of his wrestling career he had three concussions, Daniel said that he is retiring purely due to health reasons.
In an interview on the “Off The Top Rope” segment on ESPN, Daniel admitted that he is suffering from post concussion seizures and hided it for long. He also revealed that only 10 concussions were diagnosed and there were certainly more.
What Culture reports that recent tests revealed swelling and a lesion on the part of the brain that causes these seizures.
What scary is that Bryan had been suffering from seizures all these years and he still continued to wrestle. His love and dedication for the sport is well-established from this fact.
Fans across the world are still in shock over Bryan’s retirement.
Even in his emotional retirement speech, Bryan didn’t forget to thank his fans who supported and loved him throughout the years.
“You guys got behind me in a way that I never thought was possible, more than I ever thought you could for a guy who was 5-8 and 190 pounds. You guys got behind me in a way that made me feel like I was more than just me,” Daniel said.
He then ended his speech by saying, “I am grateful.”
Fans across the world shared their thoughts on Twitter. Some expressed shock while others celebrated his wrestling career.
If you're happy that Daniel Bryan has to retire then you are NOT a wrestling fan. He deserves ultimate respect from everyone. #ThankYouBryan

I'm really sad. I think @WWEDanielBryan is the best wrestler in history and it hurts to see someone's passion taken away from them.
