Delonte West is clearly not healthy and sound these days. The former NBA player was found wandering around near Jack In The Box parking lot in Houston.
He was found roaming around without shoes. West was spotted shoeless, in a disheveled condition and was wearing a hospital gown leading to speculations that he was sick or just out of hospital hasn’t been disclosed yet.
TMZ was the first to report the news. A person who first spotted West told the entertainment website that he noticed the former NBA player wandering around outside the hospital all by himself.
Yahoo Sports reports that when the person approached the eight year NBA veteran he asked him; “Are you Delonte West?” to which West replied; “I used to be but I’m not about that life anymore.”
West was the 24th overall pick in the 2004 draft by the Boston Celtics. West also previously played for the Seattle Supersonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks.
Born in Washington DC, West started by playing for Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland. He was diagonised with bipolar disorder in 2008 while he was with Cavaliers.
However, in an interview with The Post’s Rick Maese, West said that his health condition was blown out of proportion. He also revealed that he had stopped taking medication for his health condition.
West hasn’t played much in the NBA since 2012. But he finished up a short stint with the Texas Legends of the NBA Development League. The team also used him in a Twitter promotion in October.
“31 DAYS till the season opener with the @austin_spurs – Get ready…It’s getting close!,” the team wrote on Twitter accompanied by Delonte’s picture.

West is not listed on the Legends’ roster. So, it’s unclear whether he’s still affiliated with the team or not.
He has also not been active much on social media. Except for a few workout videos, he has not tweeted much.
