Turk international Arda Turan’s debut for Barcelona was not smooth. Turan had to wait until this year’s January to appear in Barcelona colors after being signed last summer.
The professional had to wait in the sidelines with only training schedule to look forward to. That surely took a toll on the Turk international’s mind as Barcelona was underwhelmed by Turan’s display. This also helped the Catalan boss Luis Enrique to bench him easily.
Turan replaced Ivan Rakitic during the El Classico on last Saturday. But the Turk failed to make any impact on the game, and Real Madrid notched up the late winner from his side of the field. Turan worked hard, but couldn’t match with Barca’s pass-and-move soccer philosophy.
At this stage, Barcelona shall be considering to boost their roster ahead of the next transfer window. And Premiership giants Chelsea are looking to inject some fresh blood at Stamford Bridge.
Experts view that the West Londoners are most suited to the Turk International’s natural style of the game. Turan destroyed the Blues in an encounter during the 2013-2014 Champions League. And Antonio Conte would prefer Turan for his competitive spirit as the Turk is capable of shaking up Chelsea’s midfield. So, there is a high probability of Turan featuring for the Blues in near future, according to Metro.
Turan himself also will prefer first eleven football ahead of prolonging his stay at Barcelona. Earlier, the former Atletico Madrid wide-man was linked to a multi-million dollar move to the Chinese Super League last week.
