The prolific shooter of the NBA has left his mark as a prolific gift-giver during his farewell season. Kobe Bryant has received many gifts in his last season in the league, and he has handed out signed sneakers to every NBA stars. The latest one going to Chris Paul.
Bryant didn’t mince words in revealing he wanted to be featured in the same team with Paul in the NBA. They nearly became Lakers’ team-mates in 2011, but that didn’t happen. Bryant and Paul played together only in the Olympics for team-USA and NBA All-star game.
The Lakers met their city rivals Los Angeles Clippers in back-to-back games in the Staples Center. And hence came Paul’s gift. A pair of Air Jordan 3s with a Lakers’ purple and gold Jumpman logo, which also included a message from the legendary Lakers’ star. Paul has revealed it in his tweets.
The message read “”To my brother CP one of the greatest competitors of all time!”
The choice of sneakers is a fitting one, as Paul is a Jordan Brand endorser, according to the ESPN. Bryant dons his own signature Nikes, and he did the same against Clippers on Wednesday night, but he has worn Jordan Brand 3 sneakers in games in the past, while he was a sneakers free agent in 2002-2003.
Kobe Bryant also shared family moments with Chris Paul after the last Clippers-Lakers game. Bryant was seen enjoying in light mood with his daughters, Chris Paul and his six year old son.
