Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has made an honest confession. James has confessed that he is “absolutely” a fan of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
However, James corrected Newton about a little fact.
During the Super Bowl media day, Cam Newton was asked if he was the LeBron of the NFL. Newton responded by saying, “Why can’t LeBron be called the Cam Newton of power forwards?”
Now, such a statement is hard to miss by. So, when James was asked about his views regarding Newton’s statement, James said: “I heard that.”
James was quite upfront about his views. “I heard that. I’m not a power forward, though. I’m LeBron of the NBA,” James said, reports ESPN.
James also revealed that he is quite happy with his current playing position.
“I’m not a power forward right now, and I’m not slowing down any time soon,” James said. “So, I like being a wing guy. It’s cooler.”
James however, played football in high school and participated in the mini leagues too. His left tackle though was not impressive as he informs.
With his touring height at 6-foot-5 and weight of 245 pounds, Cam can certainly play variety of positions in the football field.
James however, is all praise for the NFL star and has called him a rare talent.
“He’s a rare talent,” James said. “And obviously his size and speed is just a rarity at that position. And then his height as well, there’s not many guys that are 6-foot-5 or over in the NFL — especially playing the quarterback position. So that’s why, combined with his IQ, combined with his speed, his power and combined with the great guys surrounding him, that makes it very tough [to defend him].”
Newton is currently preparing for his big Super Bowl game to be held coming Sunday.
